I'm excited to share a keepsake of mine with you. Sometimes my first-time homebuyer clients will ask me, "Will this home appreciate?"
My dad, Larry Plummer, was a real estate agent in the late 1970's. Sometime during the first few years of my career in the 2000's, dad gifted me this Realty Review pictorial home listings magazine from July of 1977, the year I was born.
Way back before the Internet, magazines, open houses, and of course Realtors® were the ONLY way homebuyers found homes for sale in Olympia and Thurston County.
So, on occasion, I'll pull out this magazine and show my clients $500,000 homes that once sold for only $40,000. "Will this home appreciate?" Statistically, about 4.5% compounded annually.
